Sand sculptor Sudarsan Pantaik created Benazir’s two-tonne sand image Friday on Orissa’s Puri beach, some 56 km from state capital Bhubaneswar. Students of his Golden Sand Art Institute helped him.

“It took four hours to make the image in sand,” Patnaik told IANS.

Lots of people and tourists also gathered on the beach to pay tribute to Benazir Bhutto. “We are shocked by the sudden demise of Bhutto. To pay her tribute, we created the image,” Patnaik said.
