Kuala Lumpur : Malaysian firm PLUS Expressways Bhd is set to complete the highway that it is building off Mumbai by March 2008.

The company’s chief financial officer Annuar Marzuki Abdul Aziz said PLUS was upgrading the existing road of about 21.6 km into a four-lane toll-road linking Bhiwandi, Kalyan and Shilpatha in Maharashtra.

The project is to cost $43 million, Aziz told The Star newspaper.

This is part of the group’s strategy to expand its operations at home and abroad, specialising in building toll-road projects.

India and Indonesia are its special targets abroad. In Indonesia, the group will complete the 116 km toll road from Cikampek to Palimanan in Java in three years’ time.
