Kabul : Taliban rockets killed three civilians and injured seven in the eastern province of Kunar in Afghanistan, a military statement said.
Taliban militants fired rockets toward the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) patrol base in Chawki district around 4 p.m. Saturday, the statement said.
Two rockets fell short, in a village and caused the civilian casualties, it said, adding the injured were evacuated to ISAF medical facilities.
In a separate event, a suicide car bomber attacked an ISAF patrol in Surkhrod district of the eastern province of Nangarhar, the statement said.
The blast damaged a military vehicle and slightly injured an ISAF soldier.
About 37,000 ISAF and 13,000 US-led coalition troops are operating in war-torn Afghanistan. The rising Taliban insurgency has claimed over 2,500 lives this year.
