New Delhi : Former India coach Greg Chappell said Tuesday he could take up the role of a coach either at the Bangalore-based National Cricket Academy (NCA) or at the Rajasthan state academy.

A former Australia captain, Chappell told IANS that Indian cricket chief Sharad Pawar had offered him a role at NCA and that he was keen to find out more details.

"Pawar offered me the role at the NCA, but since returning I have mailed board secretary Niranjan (Shah) twice for details (but there has been) no response," Chappell said via e-mail.

Chappell, who is currently involved with the Brisbane-based Centre of Excellence of the Australian cricket board, said he would also not mind taking up a role at the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) academy.

He said he was talking to RCA president Lalit Modi.

"I am negotiating with Lalit but will not meet with him until next month regarding his academy," he said.

It is clear that Chappell, whose two-year tumultuous contract with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) ended with the Indian team's first-round exit from the World Cup in March, is keen to return to India if given a suitable offer.
