Rathore finishes ninth at shooting World Cup

New Delhi : India's Olympic silver medallist Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore finished ninth in the men's double trap event at the World Cup in Slovenia Tuesday.

Rathore tallied 140 points in the qualification series, shooting 47, 46 and 47 to miss the finals by two points, according to indianshooting.com

Moraad Ali Khan of India finished 26th with a score of 134 (43, 46, 45) while Ronjan Sodhi, who performed very well at the previous two World Cups, shot 134 (45, 46, 43) to finish 28th in a field of 43 shooters.

In the minimum qualifying score (MQS) section, the Indians Mohammed Asab shot a score of 136 (47,44,45) and Vikram Bhatnagar managed 135 (46,49,40).

Daniello Francesco of Italy won the gold medal with 192 (145 + 47 in finals) and Dahlby Hakan of Sweden clinched the silver with 190 (142+48). Eller Walton of the US won the bronze with a tally of 188 (141+47).
