India’s Ghosal stays 42nd in world ranking

New Delhi : India's top squash player Saurav Ghosal has retained his 42nd position in the world rankings while former national champion Ritwik Bhattacharya has slipped nine places to 60th.

Ghosal has 1143.75 points from 14 tournaments and Bhattacharya, who slipped from 51st to joint 60th rank with Mark Krajcsak of Hungary, has 752 points from 12 tournaments, according to the monthly rankings posted on the Professional Squash Association website.

Other Indians also registered an upswing in the world rankings. While Naresh Kumar climbed up 10 spots to 168, Parth Shamra climbed 48 places to 183 and Partibhan Ayappan improved eight places, from 200 to 182.

In the women's section, India number one Joshna Chinnapa moved up one place to 39th and Dipika Pallikal has jumped 12 places to 68.
