Havana : Rahul Gandhi, Congress MP and son of party president Sonia Gandhi, met Cuban Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque for talks on bilateral issues and AIDS.
At their meeting Wednesday, Gandhi and Roque also discussed work accomplished by an Indian delegation during its stay in Cuba.
Gandhi, who arrived here Sunday, spoke about the campaign against AIDS and programmes implemented in Cuba.
Indian ambassador to Cuba, Mitra Vasisht, and Alberto Blanco, director of Asia affairs in the Cuban foreign ministry, also attended the meeting.
Cuban parliament president Ricardo Alarcon and Public Health Minister Jose Ramon Balaguer earlier received Gandhi.
Cuba and India established diplomatic ties in 1960, when Rahul Gandhi's great grandfather Jawaharlal Nehru was the prime minister of India.
