Islamabad : Four policemen were killed and two others injured when unidentified gunmen attacked their vehicle in the Pakistani city of Peshawar on Thursday, police said.
They were on routine patrolling at Janigar locality of the city when their vehicle was attacked by unknown miscreants, killing four policemen at the scene.
Two cops sustained injuries who were shifted to a local hospital.
The assailants fled after the attack.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Motives behind the attack were not clear and police said they are investigating.
The police cordoned off the area after the attack and started a major search operation to apprehend the attackers.
