Mumbai : The recent action taken by the state government against Maharashtra Waqf Board president Dr. M.A. Aziz, and a reputed business house Reliance Industries is an initial but welcome gesture, Jamaat-e- Islami Hind Maharashtra president Er. Nazar Mohammed Madu said in a statement here Wednesday.
Er. Mohammed Madu demanded action against all the Waqb Board employees as well as the politician guilty of misdeed. He also demanded cancellation of illegal sale of other 25 properties as mentioned in the Sadique Qadri report.
The Jamaat leader insisted that the Sadique Qadri report should be made public and the recent Waqf Board be dissolved.
He also advocated creation of a new board free from politicians and represented by Muslim organisations.
He appreciated the constructive support of the media and other activists for the cause.
