Montreal : India expects the United States to contribute substantially to the upcoming meetings with authorities from Brazil and the European Union by cutting agricultural subsidies.
In statements to reporters, Indian Trade and Industry Minister Kamal Nath said that US authorities must open up at the negotiations of the Doha Round to make concrete achievements.
He pointed out that the authorities from the United States, the European Union, India and Brazil will meet in Potsdam, Germany, this month.
These four countries are seeking common grounds to eliminate tariffs and other trade barriers in a last attempt to save the complex negotiations of the Doha Round.
