China condemns attack on Chinese in Pakistan

Beijing : China Monday condemned the killing of three Chinese workers by unidentified assailants in Pakistan, and urged Islamabad to investigate the attack and punish those guilty.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang said China was very concerned about the attack, and had lodged protests with the Pakistani embassy in Beijing and the Pakistani government.

On Sunday, four Chinese workers were attacked by unknown assailants in the northwestern city of Peshawar. While three were killed, one was critically wounded.

China has asked Pakistan to provide medical treatment to the injured man, help repatriate the bodies of the dead, and take effective measures to ensure the safety and security of Chinese in Pakistan, Qin added.

The spokesman advised all Chinese in Pakistan to take precautions.
