AAA secretary Maurice Nicholas along with the association's competitions director Lalit K. Bhanot, course measurer Muregesu Soosaimany and international technical official C.K.Valson visited the Jordanian capital last week to review the arrangements for the meet.

"We are satisfied with the preparation for the championships. Jordan Athletics Federation has made adequate arrangements for housing athletes and officials. We are confident that Jordan will host the meet successfully despite the short preparation time they had," Nicholas said in the statement.

The Asian Athletics Championships is the biggest track and field event in the continent after the Asian Games.
