A CII statement issued here said the delegation comprising chief executive officers (CEOs) of various Indian companies will identify, explore and capitalise on the immense investment and business opportunities in the Himalayan kingdom.

It will have interactive sessions on business prospects with the Bhutan Chamber of Commerce. They will also meet the Bhutnese prime minister, foreign minister, minister for trade and commerce and Indian Ambassador to Bhutan Sudhir Vyas.

Bhutan has a unique relationship with India. Bhutan and India share warm, friendly and close bilateral relations – both at the political and economic level.

India remains Bhutan's most important bilateral partner. It is Bhutan's largest trading partner, accounting for over 90 percent of Bhutan's exports and 50 percent of its imports.

India is also Bhutan's largest aid donor, providing more than half of Bhutan's development assistance which will amount to just over $300 million over the course of Bhutan's current Five Year Plan, the CII statement said.
