Dubai : The Indian mission here will issue emergency certificates Saturday to all Indians who had applied for them.
There has been a big demand for these certificates since early June, when the United Arab Emirates (UAE) government set a deadline of three months for all illegal foreign workers to either get legal status to stay in the country or face deportation.
The Indian consulate has completed processing of all applications for emergency certificates submitted to its collection centres up to June 30, a press statement said.
Applicants have been asked to collect their certificates from the Indian High School, Dubai, and Indian Association, Sharjah, Saturday from 9 a.m. onwards.
There are around 1.4 million Indians in the UAE.
