Tehran : An Iranian woman convicted for murder was publicly hanged in northwestern Iran, a Tehran daily reported Sunday.
The 29-year-old woman was sentenced to death for having killed her husband and ordering two men to kill the husband’s parents and brother, the Teheran-e Emrouz daily reported.
She and the two men were publicly hanged Saturday in Tabriz, capital of the East Azerbaijan province.
Under Iranian Islamic law, murder, rape, armed robbery, drug trafficking of quantities in excess of five kg and apostasy are punishable by death.
