Talking to a private TV Channel Wednesday, the Information and Broadcasting Minister, Muhammad Ali Durrani said the Islamabad blast Tuesday was in fact "a terrorist act against the country".

"Continuation of recent terrorist activities (in Pakistan) has no link with political issues," Durrani was quoted by Online news agency as saying.

Durrani's remarks followed the death of at least 13 people Tuesday night as a suicide bomber blew himself up outside the venue of a lawyers' rally in Pakistani capital to be addressed by Pakistan's suspended chief justice Iftikhar Muhammed Choudhry.

He said changing mindset of the extremists is necessary for the progress and in establishing the society where every one would have tolerance for each other.
