V.K. Verma elected Asian badminton secretary

New Delhi : Badminton Association of India (BAI) president V.K. Verma has been elected secretary-general of the Badminton Asia Confederation (BAC) at its annual general meeting in Kuala Lumpur.

According to the official BAC website, Verma was the lone Indian to be elected among the office bearers, chosen for a four-year term (2007-11), at Sunday's meeting attended by 42 delegates from 26 countries at the Prince Hotel in the Malaysian capital.

President: Sutiyoso (Indonesia); Vice-presidents: Liu Feng Yan (China), Mehdi Karbasian (Iran), Gandi Sulistiyanto (Indonesia), Naqi Mohsi (Pakistan), Mohammad Rashid Al-Abed (Jordan), Amanda Weerasinghe (Sri Lanka)
Secretary-general: V.K. Verma (India)
Treasurer: Kim Hak Suk (South Korea)
