Indians win gold in world Chemistry Olympiad

Mumbai : Two Indian students did the country proud by winning gold at the International Chemistry Olympiad in Moscow.

Soham Mehta of Nagpur and Sumit Somani of Jaipur shared the top position among 265 students from 68 countries participating in the world event, which concluded Tuesday, the Nagpur lad's uncle Vasisth Mehta told IANS.

Vikas Prajapati, also from Rajashtan and T Immanuel Illavarasan of Chennai were the other Indian medal winners. Both of them won the bronze, according to information reaching here Wednesday.

All the four Indian wiz kids, who flew down here Tuesday night, were felicitated warmly at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) Wednesday.

Twenty Indian students were selected for the international event through a four-stage contest from among 44,000 participants.
