New Delhi : Maj. Gen. K.J.S. Oberoi, the general officer commanding, was Thursday named President Pratibha Patil's military secretary.
Christy Fernandes, currently tourism secretary, was earlier named secretary to the president.
The other appointments announced by the President's Secretariat include Vijay Thakur Singh as social secretary, Barun Mitra as joint secretary and Faiz Ahmed Kidwai and Vishal Chauhan as deputy secretaries.
The appointments will be for a period co-terminus with the tenure of the president or until further orders.
