Moscow : Commander of US Naval Forces in Europe Admiral Henry G. Ulrich will visit a Russian nuclear powered missile-carrying submarine and heavy missile cruiser, the Russian defence ministry said Thursday.
A US military delegation, led by Ulrich, will visit the Northern Fleet July 28-30.
"Admiral Ulrich will meet Northern Fleet Commander Admiral Vladimir Vysotsky and Murmansk Governor Yury Yevdokimov. Then he will visit the Yekaterinburg nuclear powered submarine," the ministry said in a press release posted on its official website.
The US delegation will participate in Russian Navy Day celebrations July 29 aboard the nuclear powered missile cruiser Pyotr Veliky.
The ministry said Ulrich's visit is the first to the Northern Fleet by a ranking US Navy official in the past 11 years.
