The protest is "in defence of our sanctities, our honour, our freedom, our blood and our Islamic region," said the organizers of the march, which culminates in a rally outside the Saudi Arabian Embassy.

"We demand from the Saudi government to criminalize and ban the extreme Wahhabi movement, given that it is the prime factor in inciting violence, hatred and intolerance throughout the world," they said.

"This extreme movement is the cause of distorting the image of the Muslims and distorting the reputation and beautiful image of Islam," the organizers warned.

Extremist elements are blamed for the cause behind the mass murder of hundreds of thousands in Iraq as well as for terrorist attacks in the US, Britain, Spain, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The organizers said the march will send a strong message to the supporters of terrorism and enemies of humanity, while constituting solidarity with the bereaved families of all the innocent civilians killed.
