Tehran : An official from Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (CHHTO) said on Monday that 60 cooperation agreements on tourism development have been signed between Iran and foreign countries so far.
Acting director of International affairs and specialized organizations of the CHHTO Mohammad-Kazem Kholdi-Nassab told reporters on Monday "The main subject of the agreements has been participation and investment in tourism sector of the interested sides." He also said, "30 information bureaux of the CHHTO will be commissioned in current Iranian calender year with cooperation of the ministry of foreign affairs."
The bureaux are to present information concerning Iran's historical, cultural, natural and recreational attractions to the foreign tourists.
The official, who is director of international committee of the first international forum on investment opportunities in Iran's tourism industry, told reporters the head of CHHTO has asked foreign ambassadors to Tehran to introduce potential investors of their respective country to the forum.
In this concern, 265 legal and real entities and 200 foreign investment companies including banks, airlines and specialized tourism news agencies have been introduced to the forum.
Referring to the signed cooperation agreements between Iran and foreign countries on developing relations in the field of tourism, the official added, "Presence of investors and foreign activists in the industry is among achievements of the forum."
The first international forum on investment opportunity in Iran's tourism industry will be held in Tehran on August 25-26, 2007.
