Nearly 150,000 students are vying for 40,000 seats offered at the undergraduate level in DU. Of these, 5,000 seats are for professional courses.

While the last date for availability of forms has been fixed June 15, the first cut off list stating the minimum percentage of marks required for eligibility to take admission in a particular course in a particular college, will be out June 26.

Subsequently, the admission procedure will begin June 27-29. The second admission list will be out June 30 and the admission procedure will be on from July 2-4. The third list will be out July 5 and the admissions will be on from July 6-9.

Various initiatives taken by the university such as putting the map of the university area on its website and doing away with the carbon copy of the common pre-admission optical mark reading (OMR) form are aimed at making the entire process hassle free.

According to the dean of students welfare, S.K. Vij, there were many complaints last year from students who said the carbon copy of the OMR form which they retain are messy and the impression on them is not very clear.

"Hence, we decided to do away with the carbon copy and are asking students to photocopy the OMR form, submit the original and retain the photocopy," he said.

Students of the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories are required to fill up a different form called the intelligent character reader (ICR) form.

Forms can be collected and submitted at any of the 17 centres of Delhi University.
