Baghdad : Four US soldiers were killed and another wounded in insurgent attacks in Baghdad, the US military said Saturday.
One soldier was killed Friday in central Baghdad when insurgents attacked his unit in the vicinity of Zawiyah area in Karradah neighborhood.
Saturday's statements also said three soldiers were killed during the end of May, marking the highest monthly toll this year for the US military and the third highest since the outbreak of the US-led invasion in 2003.
So far, at least 127 US soldiers have been killed in Iraq in May and more than 3,475 killed in four years of war, according to media reports based on Pentagon figures.
