Washington : The US military fired at a suspected Al Qaeda target in northern Somalia, US broadcaster CNN reported.
A US Navy destroyer fired a missile at a convoy of Al Qaeda members, CNN said Friday, citing unidentified military sources. The militants were believed to be linked to the bombings of US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998, which killed 240 people.
Further details of the attack were not available. US planes also struck suspected terrorist targets in Somalia in January, killing at least six people.
