Jaipur : Å kodaIndia – a subsidiary of Å kodaAuto a.s., Czech Republic (Volkswagen Group) – is planning to launch its small car in India by this year end.
"We are planning to launch our much awaited small car, Fabia in India by the end of this year," Karsten Bogun, Managing Director (Commercial) of Å kodaIndia, told reporters on the occasion of opening a new dealership in here, the 49th in the country.
"The product (small car) is very well accepted globally and we are confident to get the same response from the Indian customers as well.
It will have a veritable advantage over its competitors in terms of its world class, technology, quality and space offering", Bogun added.
He added, "With the recently launched Laura Elegance, we will be introducing a few more variants of the existing models. Å koda India presently has 15 luxury models in the country.
To meet the growing demand in Indian car market, Bogun said, the company was planning to open a few more dealerships by this year-end. "The new dealership takes our network across India to 49 keeping us on track for the targeted 58 dealerships this year."
Å kodaIndia has sold over 43,000 units since November 2001. This year the company has set a target of selling 17,000 units.
