Rolta to set up IT Park in Kolkata

Kolkata : Mumbai-headquartered Rolta India Limited will set up an IT park in Kolkata with a phased investment of Rs.2.5 billion ($60 million).

The project at Sector V in Salt Lake, the IT hub of the city, will have facilities for delivery of IT based geospatial services, engineering design services and software development services worldwide.

"This facility will be set up in phases with an investment of about Rs.2.5 billion as part of our expansion plan," Rolta Group Chairman and Managing Director Kamal K. Singh said in Mumbai Tuesday.

"Once completed, this facility will provide an employment opportunity for about 5,000 technical professionals and domain experts from talent available largely in West Bengal," he said.

"The facility being set up in Kolkata is part of Rolta's expansion plans to grow manifold in the coming years, requiring additional infrastructure and talent pool of over 15,000 technical professionals".
