Bihar government plans for minority welfare

Patna: A meeting was held yesterday to assess the work of Minority Welfare Department under presiding of the Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar. In this meeting secretaries of the Waqf Board have been instructed to feed all information of waqf property on computer after making necessary corrections.

They are also instructed to provide scholarship to the minority students who have passed intermediate (10+2) examination with first division. Instructions are given to implement coaching arrangement for making intelligent minority students achieve success in technical and non technical entrance examination.

The Chief Minister instructed the Minority Welfare Department's officials to give a loan of Rs 10,000 to the minority women to make them self employed. The Managing Director of Minority Financial Corporation has been directed to give loan to those persons of minority community who have their driving license for buying commercial vehicles.

The Chief Minister also assessed the implementation of various programmes.

Officials informed the Chief Minister that 11 thousand teachers have been appointed against the target of 14 thousand. The Chief Minister instructed the concerned authorities that appointment should be done as soon as possible and if any irregularities occurs in the appointment process then there should be a probe and selection of deserving candidate must come in action.

District Magistrates and Superintendents of police are ordered to make preferred list of boundary walls for fencing graveyards and Home Secretary is directed to send order with this concern to all D.Ms and S.Ps of the state.

"There should be no financial crisis in implementation of schemes for minorities" the Chief Minister added on this occasion. Construction of minority hostels was analyzed and direction is given to make managing committee for all hostels.

The Chief Minister directed the secretary of Minority Welfare Department to give that same boarding facility to the poor students which is provided to the others.

On this occasion Minister for Minority Affairs (independent charge) Manzar Alam, Chairman of Minority Commision Naushad Ahmad and Vice Chairman of the Commision Father Peter, Sardar Charan Singh, Acting Chairman of Implementation of 15 point programmes Sharif Quraishi, Vice Chairman  Azfar Shamsi, Asghar Shamim, Secretary of Minority Welfare Department Rasheed Ahmad Khan were present along with the Chief Minister.

Apart from them Chief Secretary of Bihar, Secretary and Commisioner of Human Resource Development Dr Madan Mohan Jha, Home Commisioner Afzal Amanullah were present.

Department of Minority Welfare is directed to calk out an action plan and submit to the state Government within one month for the implementation of the 15 point programmes proposed by Nitish Government for the welfare of minorities.

A high level committee is also formed under supervision of the Chief Secretary to keep eyes on the latest development in these. Secretary of Human Resource, Home Secretary, Industrial Development Commissioner, Personal Secretary, and Secretary of State Coordination Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan will be members of this committee.
