Baghdad : Six civilian detainees were killed and at least 50 wounded in rocket or mortar attack on a US-run detention facility Saturday in southern Iraq, the military said.
According to a brief statement the six were killed when the Multi-National Force-Iraq Theatre Internment Facility at Camp Bucca near Basra was attacked by "indirect fire".
The statement said that no US service member was killed or injured in the attack.
The names of those killed are being withheld until families have been notified.
