Malaysia PM marries in private ceremony

Kuala Lumpur : Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi married Jeanne Adbullah Saturday, the Prime Minister's family said in a statement. The wedding took place at the prime minister's official residence, Seri Perdana.

Their close relatives attended the ceremony, and the prime minister's son and son-in-law witnessed the wedding, the national news agency Bernama's reported.

The bride was born in Kuala Lumpur on July 29, 1953. She is the eldest of four siblings and has two daughters.

Jeanne, educated at Sekolah Meneng Assunta, has wide experience in administration and hotel management. She used to be the supervisor of the official residence of the deputy prime minister and the manager of the Seri Perdana Complex.

The Malaysian prime minister had lost his wife Datin Paduka Seri Endon Mahmood to breast cancer in October 2005.
