"Achuthanandan has repeatedly been saying that my daughter and her family own a resort in Kovalam. I wish to clear all such baseless allegations as nothing but false. Neither my daughter nor her family own a resort or even property in Kovalam," Chandy told reporters here.

"If proved otherwise, I am prepared to do whatever Achuthanandan says. And if not, the least he can do is to tell the people of Kerala that his allegations were wrong," he said.

Achuthanandan has for some time been saying that Chandy's daughter and her husband's family own the Taj Green Cove premium luxury resort on the Kovalam beach.

"If this is the resort Achuthanandan is referring to, I wish to state that it is owned by the daughter of T.U. Kuruvilla, the state public works minister," clarified Chandy.

Kuruvilla's daughter is married to Thomas Muthoot, one of the directors of the Muthoot Group, which owns the luxury hotel.
