Ahmedabad : In a major development the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate rejected Thursday the state government's plea for brain mapping and narco analysis tests of six police officers, including three senior IPS officers, who have been arrested in the Sohrabuddin staged encounter case.
The Central Investigation Department (CID) Crime had put up an application for the test of the arrested cops on the ground that much more information was needed as these police officers had not revealed some very important facts.
DIG DG Vanzara and others who have been arrested in the fake encounter case had opposed brain mapping and other tests on different ‘flimsy' grounds.
All the six persons, Vanzara, Dabhi, Dinesh, SP Rajkumar Pandian, and constables Ajay Parmar and Santram Sharma were brought to the court from the jail.
These officers have been arrested for the murder of Sohrabuddin in fake encounter in November 2005 and also murder of his wife Kausarbi.
Inspector General (CID Crime) Geetha Johari who is leading investigations under direct supervision of the Supreme Court opposed these contentions saying that these persons wanted to avoid examinations on flimsy grounds.
