New Delhi : Women's world boxing champion Jenny R.L. and athlete Jasmin Joseph were among the eight athletes to be tested positive during the 33rd National Games held in Guwahati earlier this year, it was announced by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) here Thursday.
Besides Jenny and Jasmine, the other athletes who had been tested positive were Gajendra Kumar (javelin), Taranjit Singh (boxing), Amol Buchade and Monika Narwal (both wrestlers), Jasvir Singh (kabaddi), Vicky Batta (weightlifting).
The IOA has disqualified all the players and their individual results during the National Games, forfeiting all medals and points.
During the National Games, the anti-doping commission collected 257 samples that were sent to the National Doping Control Centre in Bangkok, which is recognised as the World Anti Doping Agency.
