Algiers : Algerian Society of Asthmology and Clinical Immunology announced the launch in Algiers of a pilot survey in Africa as part of the world alliance programme against chronic allergic and respiratory diseases.
At the end of a three-day conference, staged by the association in Algiers, participants recommended the setting up of a national epidemiological survey into the scope of allergic diseases (asthma, allergic rhinitis, food allergy) as well as the other chronic respiratory diseases (chronic bronchitis, sleep apnea disease, pulmonary hypertension).
They also called to put in place a national programme for diagnosis, processing and prevention of bronchial asthma as well as a program to fight against smoking.
