Islamabad : At least 20 people were killed, including several students, in a missile attack from the Afghan side on a religious school on the Pakistan border, private Geo TV reported.
The report quoted injured people as saying that three missiles were fired at a madrassa in Datta Khel area of Pakistan's North Waziristan tribal region bordering Afghanistan.
Seminary students were among the killed and injured, Geo said.
Earlier, Pakistani military spokesman Major General Waheed Arshad told Xinhua that some militants in a compound at the border area were killed in an explosion while they were preparing explosives.
He said there was neither any military operation nor firing from the Afghan side.
