The pigeon got caught in the Over Head Equipment (OHE) of the metro at Rajendra Place in central Delhi, damaging the wire.

The incident brought a running train on the line to a halt and affected the service between the Karol Bagh and Kirti Nagar stations between 2.35 p.m. to 2.48 p.m., a metro spokesman told IANS.

According to the official, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation checks its lines regularly, but such an accident managed to affect its service.

The sleek mass transport system ferries more than 525,000 passengers a day over a network of over 65 km.
