Lt. Col. Rashid Ullah Beg and Khalid Amir Rana Monday received the Golden Order for Services from Slovenian President Janez Drnovsek for their highly risky rescue operation in August 2005, Slovenian news agency STA reported.

The pilots rescued Tomaz Humar by dropping a sling from the helicopter and lifting him from a 6,350-meter-high ledge.

Humar was trapped on the world's ninth highest mountain Nanga Parbat for six days, suffering from hunger and cold. Two previous rescue attempts had failed.

The 8,125 m Nanga Parbat, nicknamed Killer Mountain, has claimed many of the climbers who have tried to conquer it.
