Bhopal:, June 22: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan while releasing a book entitled 'Akhbaron mein 1857' based on freedom struggle of 1857 said that justice was not served in history on revolutionaries and martyrs of freedom struggle here today.

Books based on authentic and factual information on lives and activities of the martyrs and revolutionaries would be published to inspire the present generation. The book has been jointly published by Department of Public Relations and Sapre Museum in context of the first freedom struggle of 1857.

Chouhan further observed that few historians have tried to ignore the first freedom struggle but the factual evidences have certified that the freedom struggle of 1857 was the first freedom struggle. Whatever have been described in text books pertaining to the first struggle was not justice to the first struggle.

Mentioning about Bahadur Shah Zafar, Chouhan said that he was a true patriot and freedom fighter who had great pains in his heart for the freedom of the country which is evident from his poem that he was not able to find a place in his own country for burial but buried in Rangoon.

Chouhan said that the state government would serve justice to the sacrifices of freedom fighters and great personalities by publishing books on their contributions towards freedom struggle. Efforts would be made to make available the history based on facts and evidences in the state which will prove helpful for historians and students. He urged upon the present generation to develop reading as their habit to acquaint themselves with history. He further mentioned that today's facts would become tomorrow's history and articles based on facts and evidences would take shape of history in future.

Commissioner Public Relations Department Manoj Shrivastava while expressing his views said that fair review and analysis take shape of history. He further said that most people opined that news papers prepare rough draft of history. History of the newspapers is 500 years old whereas the first freedom struggle is just 150 years old hence we should not view news papers from this angle.

Shrivastava further mentioned that Adrian Rich accuses that false history has been created every day. People say history is a bucket of ash, but it depends on us how we utilise this ash. He observed that efforts have been made to compile facts and evidences in the book 'Akhbaron mein 1857'. He also praised contribution of Sapre Museum towards the book on the occasion.

The founder of Sapre Museum Vijaydutt Shreedhar said that history of the freedom struggle can be written on the basis of newspapers.
