Rocket launcher recovered from drain in Agra

Agra : An unused rocket launcher was recovered from a drain in Agra Saturday though police said there was no cause for alarm.

"The small rocket launcher was recovered during the cleaning of the drain close to a bus stand in the Idgah area," said a police official.

Sanitation workers soon informed the Rakabganj Police Station, close to the Fort and the Taj Mahal. Army personnel were also called from the nearby cantonment to handle the rocket launcher.

"There is no cause for alarm now," assured the police official.

Meanwhile, in another incident in the city, residents of Kedar Nagar bolted for safety when chlorine gas leaked from a municipal water tank Saturday morning.

"It gave a stink and our eyes burnt. Many of us had nausea. The leakage has turned green trees to pale yellow," said Ramesh, who along with several of his neighbours had fled.

Fire brigade personnel soon stopped the leakage, police said.
