First property investment Arab gathering starts in Syria

Damascus : The First Arab Gathering for Real Estate Investment Companies kicked off Monday evening in Damascus with a view to seeking ways of encouraging small to medium-sized property and housing development projects.

The two-day gathering, which is jointly sponsored by the BAZ property development company and the Kuwaiti Aref investment group has attracted several experts in the field of property and tourist investment.

The representative for the BAZ property systems company, Khaled Al-Shammari, praised the investment climate in Syria and described it as “promising and ideal.”

“The BAZ company has an extensive experience, specifically in the field of property investment,” Al-Shammari said, adding that his company was keen to take part in the growth of the property development sector in Syria.

He called on the Syrian government to “simplify the formalities involved in property investment.”

Meanwhile, another representative for the same company, Abdallah Malak, said Syria attracted site-seeing and religious tourists.
He called for making Arab tourists feel at home during their stay in Syria.
