Rio de Janeiro : Brazilian club Flamengo signed the Argentine striker Maximiliano Biancucchi, a cousin of Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi.
Biancucchi – who played for Sportivo Luqueno, which won the Paraguayan championship last week – is expected to be in Rio de Janeiro next week to undergo medical tests and sign his contract with Flamengo.
The Brazilian club confirmed the deal Tuesday for the purchase of 50 per cent of the rights over Biancucchi with the striker himself, but did not disclose the details of the negotiations or the duration of the contract.
Biancucchi will make his Flamengo debut in August, when the Brazilian transfer window opens for foreign players.
