Spanish airport reopened after hoax bomb threat

Madrid : The airport on the Spanish holiday island of Ibiza was reopened Saturday after a bomb threat was revealed to have been a hoax, the state radio reported.

Passengers were allowed to enter the airport terminal after a suspicious package, later found not to contain any explosives, was detonated.

Earlier, an unknown perpetrator had told the Basque newspaper Gara over the phone that a bomb was due to explode at Ibiza airport.

Some 3,000 holidaymakers were affected by the incident.
