By IANS, New Delhi : Three people, including a woman, have been arrested for forging the letterhead of the Lok Janshakti Party and using it to extort money from the owner of a private hospital, police said Tuesday.

Officers of the Special Cell apprehended the trio – Anil Kumar Gautam, Pramod Kumar Sharma and his wife Savita Sharma – on Monday from central Delhi after receiving a complaint from the hospital owner.

The victim complained to police in February that the trio had filed complaints against him in several government departments using the letterheads, and once also had taken Rs.50,000 from him.

They also demanded Rs.250,000 to withdraw their “frivolous” complaints.

After interrogation it was found that in September 2006, Savita Sharma had joined as manager HRD in the hospital. However, she was removed from service in February 2007.

After her removal, the trio started filing complaints against the hospital owner, Deputy Commissioner of Police Alok Kumar said.

Original copies of complaints made against the hospital on the letterhead of Lok Janshakti Party and a lesser-known Jan Hit Sena were seized from the house of Sharma. Some blank letterheads were recovered from the house.
