Mumbai : Professional golfer A.S. Lehal teamed up with Ravi Sanghrajka, Shashank Sandhu and Dilip Goenka to win the Pro-Am competition of the Rs.7 million Crompton Greaves Open at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club here Wednesday.
“We had an enjoyable round of golf and my partners played really well,” said Lehal. “I hope to take this form into the rest of the week and card a good finish this week,” he added.
Lehal and his teammates Sanghrajka, Sandhu and Goenka finished with a total of 55.8 points to win the title.
Meanwhile, professional Uttam Singh Mundy and his team of B. Hariharan, R.R. Vederah and James McMahon were the runners-up with 56.5 points.
Among the leading contenders this week, Ashok Kumar along with his team of S.M. Trehan, S. Hajara and Praveen Sachdev won the second runner-up prize with 56.8 points.
The prize for closest to the pin on the par-three second hole was won by Hans Ole Madsen, while Chris Chatterjee hit his ball closest to the pin on the sixth and eighth holes.
Shashank Sandhu was awarded the prize for hitting his ball closest to the pin on the 10th hole. Pradip Lala won the prize for closest to the pin on the 13th hole while Jayant Joshi hit it closest to the pin on the 17th hole.
The prize for straightest drive was claimed by Sandeep Tandon, while Hans Ole Madsen hit the longest drive, to 260-yards and won a Callaway golf bag for his efforts.
