“Through our new Classic range of feature rich handsets, we are confident of extending the benefits of mobility to an entirely new segment of population in metros, small cities as well as rural hinterland of India,” said S.P. Shukla, president, personal business, Reliance Communications.

The Anil Ambani-controlled company recently reported a turnover of Rs.174.40 billion and a net profit of Rs.35.26 billion for the quarter ending March 31.

Reliance Communications, which has a subscriber base of 30 million and more than 12,000 towers to cater to its growing mobile telecommunications business, also said it is hiving off some entities as separate company.
