Jammu : A Karnataka High Court judge was critically injured Thursday when his car rolled into a gorge on way to the Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu and Kashmir.
Besides Justice R. Gururajan, his wife Vijay Lakshmi, the driver Dishware Doss and personal security guard Suleiman were also hurt when their car skidded off the road and fell into a gorge near Katra, 45 km from here.
The group, which was travelling in a special car provided by the security wing of the state police, have been brought to the Government Medical College here.
The judge and his wife Vijay Lakshmi were on their way to Katra from Jammu to pay obeisance at the holy shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi.
It is not immediately known as to what caused the accident.
“We are looking into it,” a police officer told IANS, adding that the safety of the judge was their main worry.
Doctors at the hospital said the couple would be kept under observation for sometime.
