A top BCCI said that apart from this fee, the players would also receive match fees and bonus, if they win the series. The fees for Test matches would be approximately Rs.250,000 and Rs.150,000 for one-day internationals (ODIs).

The BCCI working committee had decided at its meeting here April 7 to do away with graded payment system that was in practice for some years. It replaced the graded payment with a flat retainer system.

Previously, the top players were divided into three groups and received different amounts. Those in A got Rs.5 million, group B players received Rs.3.5 million and those in C group were got for Rs.2 million.

The contract system ended in September last year.

India will play three ODIs, starting May 10, followed by two Test matches.
