New Delhi : Residents of Delhi experienced a relatively pleasant day Saturday with temperatures remaining below normal for the third consecutive day.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the capital recorded a maximum of 36.8 degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal. As compared to Friday, the minimum temperature recorded in the morning also witnessed a four-degree slide.

In the morning, the minimum temperature was 23.1 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal, as against 27 degrees Friday.

"Some parts of Delhi may experience thunder and dust storms before Sunday forenoon. However, the sky would be largely clear during the period," an IMD official said.

"Since the low pressure areas over Punjab and Haryana have weakened, all the north Indian states will witness clear sky and rise in day temperatures from Sunday," the official added.

City residents said they have been enjoying the pleasant mornings over the past three days.

"It was a pleasure going for morning walks due to the breeze and cloudy sky. My wife and me had skipped our morning walks most of the last fortnight but we have been going out the last three days," said Suresh Gupta, a resident of Mayur Vihar in east Delhi.

Added Ajit Kumar Singh, another Delhiite: "The cool weather conditions have helped millions of citizens who were suffering due to the scorching heat and long power cuts."
