Andhra Pradesh chief minister leaves for US

Hyderabad : Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy Sunday left on a week-long official tour to the United States and Singapore.

Accompanied by few top government officials and his family members, the chief minister left for the US in the early hours of the day.

The two-nation visit will focus on agriculture, information technology and investment promotion.
He will attend a dinner hosted by Gulbarga Doctors Association at St. Louis in in the US state of Missouri May 7. The next day he will address World Agriculture Congress-2007 at the same place. Reddy will highlight his government's initiatives to give boost to agriculture.

He will also participate in the programmes organised by the Telugu Association of North America and other NRI associations in Chicago and St. Louis.

On May 9, the chief minister will participate in the Indus Entrepreneurs meet on IT, semiconductors and fab manufacturing in San Francisco and interact with chief executive officers of IT and semiconductor companies.

He is expected to invite investment in the proposed Fab City, India's first semiconductor manufacturing facility come up here.

The chief minister and his entourage will leave for Singapore May 9 to participate in investment and infrastructure programmes.

Reddy is accompanied by Minister for Agriculture N. Raghuveera Reddy, Minister for Major Industries J. Geeta Reddy, Minister for IT E. Damodar Reddy and other top officials, besides his wife, daughter and grandchildren.
