More than 733 delegates and 44 guests from 33 countries are attending the two-day meeting, with emphasis on peoples’ integration in the continent vis a vis US attempts to rule the world.

Participants have expressed their rejection of the neoliberal model, including free trade agreements, and they have also decried proposals to produce fuels from food, which threaten regional food and agriculture security and sovereignty.

The agenda for Saturday’s closing session also includes approval of strategies to address these capitalist efforts, as well as a common plan of action that includes a new starting point for the peoples determined to fight for fairer societies.
